Another WordPress site with a lot of customization. Even the theme is customized after it was grabbed in from PinBoard. A very nice theme, but had to have some changes in layout to allow for the multiple HTML areas, and the designs of the bubbles.
Since I liked the humor in damnyouautocorrect.com, I thought why not make the sister site for it? Of course, my site is funnier because you can’t do random swiping on an iPhone. Also, this was my first attempt at making a blog site using only 3rd party plugins.
This is my first big project. I started this with the hopes that I can help out independent film producers and directors find talent anywhere in the world. The site uses a custom search engine to find talent using google maps API, along with a Radius and Distance Assistant plugin.
$distance = $searchparams['search_distance'];
$search_engine_results .= "AND ".$distance." > (((ACOS(SIN(".$Latitude." * PI() / 180) * SIN(`Latitude` * PI() / 180) + COS(".$Latitude." * PI() / 180) * COS(`Latitude` * PI() / 180) * COS((".$Longitude." - `Longitude`) * PI() / 180)) * 180 / PI()) * 60 * 1.1515)) ";
The remake to the above site for better performance, and using the custom made framework.
My son inspired me to make this website. I used to have this book when I was a little kid similar to this, and I wanted to share the joy of learning with him. This website is AJAX driven for the many pages it contains under each subject. jQuery was used to make the scrolling effect, and a separate plugin was used to play the audio either as Flash or as HTML5 audio element depending on browser compatibility.
This website uses google maps api as well as a customized clusterer plugin. There are some JS filters to filter map results. This site was built on top of wordpress.
This was one of my very first UI job site. I laid out the design in Photoshop, chopped up the images, embedded the videos from Facebook, built on pure PHP backend with direct MySQL database access.
